Former Secretary to the State Government who is also the Director Contact/Mobilization and Operations for Engr. A. A Sule State Campaign council Chief Philip Dada (Ajiyan Karu) earlier today inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) charged with the responsibility of organising the maiden edition of Karu Peace and Unity Cup For Engr. A.A Sule.
Inaugurating the committee at his residence in new Karu , Chief Dada said the tournament is wholly sponsored by himself and Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi,( Danmoren Karu,) Chairman Nasarawa United FC and Chairman Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria to identify young talents among players at the grassroot level in all the eleven wards of Karu Local Government Area of the State so that they can be projected and elevated both at the State,National and International levels, adding that the football competition will also make the youths of the Local Government Levels identify with what the Government is doing .
Chief Dada pointed out that , Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has made the State a peaceful one , it is on this that they decided to organise a Peace and Unity Cup tournament For Engr. A A Sule and to support government in its unity agenda for the people of Karu local Government area and Nasarawa State at large.
Ajiyan Karu added that the football tournament is an important instrument for mobilizing support for the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President,Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule's re - election bid to return to office as Executive Governor of Nasarawa State come 2023. He called on the people of Karu Local Government area to vote all APC candidates in the forthcoming General elections in Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Co- sponsor of the competition and Chairman Nasarawa State United football Club, Barr. Isaac Danladi said the tournament will help promote sporting activities and also project the good image of Karu LGA in terms of sports development in Nasarawa State.
He however , said football is a unifying factor which will be used to mobilize support for Engr. A A Sule's second term in office as Executive Governor of Nasarawa State.
The executive chairman of Karu local Government Council Hon. James B. Thomas (Jarumin Kodape) who was represented by the council sport secretary comr. Danjuma Mohammed Gwagyi commended the chief philip Dada(Ajiyan karu) and Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi (Danmoren Karu)for Organizing the football competition adding that the local Government will register her team in competition.
The APC Chairman , karu local Government area Mr. Samson Mutari said the party's officials are happy with this development , adding that APC officials and critical stakeholders will provide a team for registration .
In his remarks , the commissioner for science , technology and innovation , Nasarawa State Prof. Mikaila Umar Gurku who was also represented by the Education Secretary Alh. Atiku Musa Gurku called on the people of karu to support the re - election bid of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule .
Chairman Gwandara Political Forum also a member , contact/mobilization and operation for Engr. A.A Sule State campaign council Hon. Dantani Tambaya Bakwa called on the people of karu local Government area to vote Governor A. A Sule for second term in office and added that the football competition will promote peace and unity among the people of karu LGA.
In his remarks , Deputy speaker Karu legislative council Hon . Acha bitrus commended the former SSG and Chairman Nasarawa United for their exemplary efforts towards mobilizing support for Engr. A.A Sule through football competition , adding that the legislative council will give their support .
Speaking separately , the APC house of Representative candidate Hon. Chief Koro Auta and APC State House of Assembly Candidate Hon. Abraham Stephen Narai said they are ready to support the competition as politics goes hand in hand with football .
Also speaking , Karu FA Chairman comr. Mohammed Umar Jiya said Karu FA will ensure proper coordination of the competition in order to promote unity among the teeming youths of the LGA and maintained that the Karu FA will encourage local teams to get registered in the competition for young players to improve on their sporting career.
All elected Councilors from Karu local Government legislative arms were in attendance at the inauguration among critical stakeholders.
