The student's win coalition of Northern Groups, Kaduna state chapter seeks president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Review the students loan policy.
This made known while in a one-day sensitization and orientation program organized by the group in Zaria under the able leadership of Comr. Muhammad Bukhari Adam who stressed that the essence of organizing this event is to sensitize the students over the implications of the act "we organized this event in order to shed light on the implications and fraudulent aspects of the recently enacted student's Loan act
We, as a Coalition have carefully observed that the students loan act is a deliberate attempt to hinder citizens' access to education, with northerners being disproportionately affected." He said
Muhammad added that " Students play a pivotal role in this struggle against the loan act,and we urge them to join us in calling upon the government to either review the Act and make it beneficial for all by granting equal access or to completely repeal it while continuing to finance education."
In her remarks, the National Coordinator Coalition Of Northern Groups Students Wing, Mrs Emuseh Gimba Bokunga said that the act is not favourable to students especially underprivileged ones becouse the process is unaccessible. And she urges the President Bola Tinubu to review the loan act for the betterment of educational institution in Nigeria.
In an interview with the participants (Students) have shown dissatisfaction with the new loan act "it would not benefit us in any way becouse those who met all the requirements for the loan their parents will be able to afford the school fees no matter how expensive it is." The students said.
