Parents urges to present children for Polio vaccination

Parents have been urged to bring out their children for Polio vaccination that is going to take place in Kaduna state.

The vaccination excersice is going to be possible through Kaduna State Government in collaboration with Development Partners has announced the commencement of another Polio eradication Campaign in the State.

In a statement jointly issued by Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board and the Journalists Initiative on Immunization Against Polio (JAP) Kaduna State Chapter.

The statement explained that injectable fIPV Vaccines, oral nOPV and other Routine Immunization Vaccines will be delivered to the children aged 0-59 months.

The statement further explained that in other to achieve a quality coverage, the campaign is staggered in two phases: Phase 1 will covers 12 Local Government Areas, which will be implemented from 29th July – 3rd August, 2023, while Phase 2 covers the remaining 11 Local Government Areas between 7th to 12th August, 2023.

The statement said vaccines will be available at the designated vaccination post such as: palaces, schools, hospitals, churches, mosques, offices, markets and other community centre among others.

The statement advises the parents to ensure their children are fully vaccinated against polio and other childhood preventable diseases by visiting the nearest vaccination post.
