As the World commemorate the 2023 Children’s Day tagged “A Day for Children, by Children”, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State Dr Hadiza a Sabuwa Balarabe today commemorated the day with some children in Government House.
The childre were led into the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House by the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu along with senior officials of the ministry and the representative of the UNICEF Kaduna Field Office, Joy Eli.
Deputy Governor, who specially welcome the children to Government House, encourage them to be serious in their education which she said will give them the opportunity to unlock their potentials and enable them to compete anywhere in the world.
She also reiterated the commitment of Kaduna State Government under the leadership of Senator Uba Sani to protecting the rights of children in the state, saying under the new administration, 12 years of free primary and secondary education as well as free immunization from preventable diseases for all children is guaranteed.
In her remark, the representative of Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Kaduna, Mrs. Joyce Eli said the World Children's Day Celebration is being celebrated each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide.
Also speaking, the Social Welfare Officer in the state Ministry for Human Services and Social Development, Ibrahim Ahmed Awai Said that every 20 November is celebrated as World Children Day.
"We came here withe children to pay a special visit to the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State and other government officials to expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Governor for so many things Government of Kaduna State have done for Children" he said.
